The riverboat that today hosts The Boat by Gregory’s is the oldest on the Tiber: the structure dates back to 1890, when it was built as the home of a swimming society, the Rari Nantes. In 1920 it was inaugurated as the headquarters of the Dopolavoro Ferroviario, the railway workers’ recreational club, a role it still holds today: not just a mooring point on the river, but a true floating gym dedicated to swimming, diving, rowing and social gatherings. More than a simple calendar of events, the new format wants to be a different way of approaching free time and urban sociability: a more balanced, sophisticated and contemporary rhythm, with refined but never intrusive music, relaxed atmospheres and timings designed to enjoy the evening with ease, in line with the latest international trends in entertainment lifestyle. The terrace itself becomes a sort of urban jungle suspended above the city, where the panorama meets carefully chosen sounds, conviviality and a strongly distinctive identity.
A menu inspired by Rome’s seven hills
At the heart of the experience is a genuine tribute to the Eternal City. The new food menu offers a selection of bites and sharing dishes inspired by Rome’s hills: convivial small plates designed to accompany aperitivo and informal dinner with a contemporary, cosmopolitan spirit. The Palatino is told through a beef tartare with mustard and capers and a focaccia with Bassiano ham and Circe burrata; the Campidoglio becomes a small cacio e pepe pasta frittata or a pan brioche with fennel-seasoned porchetta and smoked provola foam, and so on through the menu, each dish reinterpreting a different corner of the city.
Cocktails that tell the story of Rome’s rioni
The mixology is conceived as a journey through Rome’s historic rioni, with a signature drink list built as a sensory narrative of the city. The menu itself is part of the experience: an original collectible cube, designed as an iconic object to keep and enjoy, turning the drink list into a piece of design and storytelling.
Each cocktail interprets a neighbourhood, its atmosphere, symbols and personality. Rione Parione is fresh and Mediterranean, built on Gin Mare, a tomato and basil cordial, dry vermouth and Organics Tonic Water. Rione Trastevere is spicy and fruity at once, made with Diplomatico Riserva rum, a pineapple and cinnamon cordial and Organics Ginger Beer. Rione Campo Marzio is tropical with smoky notes, combining Tequila Herradura, Ancho Reyes Verde, lime, orgeat, smoked salt and Organics Bitter Lemon.
Alongside the signature selection, The Organics Sky Garden also offers a classic cocktail list and a beverage proposal made with 100% natural ingredients, in keeping with the fresh, sophisticated identity of the terrace.
Sunset Panorama and Liquid Sessions
The musical direction is curated by Glauco Di Mambro, DJ, producer and music curator, who brings his cutting-edge vision to the terrace.
Among the most anticipated appointments is “Sunset Panorama,” the Friday format starting at 6.30 pm, aimed at global travellers and an international crowd looking for a relaxed, vibrant take on contemporary luxury. Soft, sophisticated electronic sounds accompany the Roman sunset with a musical selection that reflects the city’s cosmopolitan spirit, striking a balance between elegance, energy and panorama.

Outdoor aperitivo season has officially arrived, and Rome is certainly ready for it. Ruby Giulia Hotel now joins the list of panoramic rooftops not to miss this season and beyond.
Opened in November 2025, the German-designed hotel invites guests and visitors up to its seventh-floor panoramic terrace to watch the sunset over the rooftops of Rome’s historic center. All of this is wrapped in a very specific concept: the 1970s and the world of espionage.
The choice is far from random. The building that now houses the hotel and rooftop was once part of the Ministry of the Interior, specifically the intelligence services department. And there lies the “mystery” behind the design choices, especially those defining the sixth-floor bar.
Here you’ll find a lively, convivial space with a distinctive, almost theatrical feel, complete with investigation maps, wigs and outfits worthy of true Roman Sherlock Holmes: the whole setting feels straight out of a film.
There is also a more discreet, intimate panoramic terrace, perfect for those looking for a quieter atmosphere without giving up views over the city.
The indoor bar is ideal for a coffee break, with coffee priced at €2, or for settling into one of the sofas with a book. In the late afternoon, from 4pm to 7pm, guests can also enjoy a special drinks and snacks formula.
Retro spirit and Spritzes for every taste

Where agents once scanned the horizon, guests can now raise a glass beneath elegant parasols on a terrace suspended above the Roman skyline. Velvet seating in ombré tones, geometric prints, chrome details and even lemon-yellow loungers and tomato-red chairs create an intimate, cinematic atmosphere.
The star of the show is, of course, the Spritz, reimagined here in a full palette of variations, from the classic Aperol and Campari to more refined creations. Alongside the timeless Hugo Spritz with elderflower, more contemporary and eye-catching combinations stand out, such as the Violet Spritz, elegant and lightly floral, or the Bergamot Rose Spritz, where citrus notes meet delicate rosy nuances. For those looking for something more exotic, the Colada Spritz brings tropical hints to the glass, while the Passion Fruit Spritz plays on intense, seductive contrasts. Fresher and more aromatic, the Cucumber Spritz with white vermouth and ginger beer is ideal for warmer evenings.

Wrapped in retro elegance, the penthouse bar is accessible 24 hours a day for hotel guests and from 6pm to 11pm for external visitors. One practical note to keep the evening running smoothly: the bar is cashless, so cash payments are not accepted.
At Ruby Giulia Hotel, breakfast also follows the rhythm of the city, turning a daily ritual into a convivial and well-curated experience. A strategic location
Ruby Giulia is located on the edge of the Monti district, a ten-minute walk from Termini Station and just steps from some of Rome’s most iconic landmarks. The Trevi Fountain and Roman Forum are only a fifteen-minute walk away, while the Colosseum and the Pantheon can be reached in twenty minutes.
From Ruby Hotel, it is easy to feel fully immersed in the city’s urban fabric without being overwhelmed by it. The ideal plan? Spend some time shopping on Via Nazionale or visit an exhibition at the nearby Palazzo delle Esposizioni, before ending the day with a Spritz and some good music.
There is a before and after in the Flaminio neighborhood, and Mostò stands right in the middle.
When it first opened, natural wine was not yet a trend. In fact, in Rome, few people were really talking about it. Mostò was one of the first wine bars in the city to truly believe in it, focusing on small producers, short supply chains, and a more authentic way of drinking. At the time, Flaminio was still a fairly quiet neighborhood, with only a handful of interesting addresses. Mostò quickly became a point of reference: a place that attracted people, brought them together, and helped change the face of the area.
Behind the project are three partners: Ciro, Alessia, and Valerio. Their idea was to create a place that could be a wine bar, a neighborhood shop, and a convivial space all at once. Somewhere to drop by, stop for a chat, enjoy a glass of wine, have an aperitivo, or stay for a proper dinner.
Wine is at the heart of everything. The list features around 350 to 400 labels, with a strong focus on Italian wines but also interesting selections from France, Spain, and other European countries. Ciro personally knows many of the producers and suppliers, and the selection has been built over time through direct relationships and thoughtful choices. By the glass, there are around 15 options, perfect for exploring.
The same attention goes into the ingredients. The cured meats come from quality producers such as Re Norcino, with the coppa and mortadella not to be missed, while the cheeses are selected from small local producers, including Ammano.
In the kitchen is the third partner, Valerio Romani, a chef and pastry chef with over 25 years of experience and an impressive background that includes time at Troiani and Terrinoni. The menu changes often, following the seasons and the chef’s inspiration, but always keeps a clear identity: generous, satisfying dishes that are never predictable.
Among the current dishes are flavorful panelle with creamed salt cod, as well as green falafel with fava beans, served with pecorino sauce. One of the signature dishes is the Daje de Taco, daje de punta, a taco filled with veal brisket, broccoli guacamole, and lentil chili. Also very tempting is the hot dog with Re Norcino würstel, friarielli, and potatoes.
Desserts are part of the experience too, such as the sesame cream with mango and sesame brittle, a balanced way to end the meal.
Mostò is a neighborhood wine bar in the truest sense of the term: a lively, informal yet carefully curated place, the kind of place you want to return to. Not just to drink well, but to feel part of something.
Mostò is open Monday to Saturday from 5:30pm to 11:30pm, and on Sunday from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.
In a changing Rome, Mostò remains a point of reference. Not because it follows trends, but because it anticipated them.
Rome’s city center may be a chaotic maze of touristy joints, but a few authentic strongholds still resist and do so proudly; in the case of Enoteca Il Piccolo, open in Via del Governo Vecchio just behind Piazza Navona since 1980, tradition still thrives.
Il Piccolo is a cozy wine bar offering around 150 wines for every palate and level. Many wines are Italian, but many others are produced abroad, including in France, Spain, Slovenia, and Georgia. Wines can be had by the glass (€6-€15) or by the bottle (€20-€300), and the vast menu truly offers various tiers of accessibility depending on what one wants to drink.
In the past decade, Il Piccolo has started serving artisanal wines, mostly natural wines and some organic. Some cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages are also available for non-wine drinkers. From 6:00pm, you can accompany your drink of choice with cold tapas (€3-€10), like sandwiches, bruschette or sharing boards. Almost all the fresh produce on the menu is grown in Latium, in an effort to promote local producers and sustainability.
Informal and genuine, Il Piccolo is a place for everyone, a haunt that both locals and tourists can appreciate, with a diverse clientele that encompasses the now elderly regulars that have been frequenting it for decades and the local youth who’s just come of age, plus every age in between. Il Piccolo is more than an excellent winebar, it’s a melting pot and a strategic meeting place. A fan fact is that there is one table that has been booked by the same friend group every day for years… that’s the epitome of a place worth returning to.
True to its name, Enoteca Il Piccolo doesn’t take up too much space: the indoor section can seat 10 lucky drinkers, while the outdoors can accommodate roughly 40, so reserving a table is a good idea; you can only do so via phone and at least one day before, they don’t accept reservations through social media. Small but welcoming: if you show up without a reservation, the staff will try their best to accommodate you; you can get in line for the next available table or even consume standing.
Amid the chaos of the area where anarchy reigns supreme and “ciao bella, something to eat or drink?” is repeated thousands of times per day to unsuspecting tourists, you won’t have to look farther than Enoteca Il Piccolo for a sacred oasis of authentic Roman hospitality. The cozy indoor has maintained the same style it had when the place first opened in the 80s, with original decorations that keep the place authentic and down to earth. No frills or artifice are needed to spice things up, because Il Piccolo doesn’t need an Instagrammable glamorous look or to follow new trends to maintain a strong identity. It’s the heart that counts and sets this winebar apart from countless others.
Riccardo Davoli, manager and sommelier, son of Il Piccolo’s founder, Giancarlo, claims that the key to their success is their authenticity, which stems not necessarily from good wine, but from the very people that make Il Piccolo, including the staff and the clientele, above anything else. For something hearty, go for the organic cereals and muesli with your choice of yogurt or milk. If you’re craving an authentic Italian flavor, instead, don’t miss the Caprese salad with fresh Stracciatella and Naples tomatoes – a perfect way to fuel your day.

For lunch or brunch, try the avocado toast with smoked Norwegian salmon, or the wholegrain banana pancakes with berries. Another favourite of ours is the bruschetta with stracciatella, fresh truffle and Neapolitan tomatoes: a must! The menu also includes colourful salads, such as the “Puglia”, with avocado, tomatoes, stracciatella, cucumber and cornbread, or the “Tropical”, a more exotic option with mango and sumac.
And, for cheese lovers, we recommend you don’t miss the premium selection of cold cuts and cheeses – like Pecorino al Tartufo and Stracciatella di Puglia.
The Aurora Spritz: From 4pm Until Late
As the evening rolls in, Aurora Bistrot is the perfect place to enjoy a traditional Italian aperitivo with a modern note.
For Spritz aficionados who want to stay true to the classic recipe while adding a twist, you absolutely must try the “Aurora Spritz.” Sparkling, citrusy, and refreshing, it’s made with Prosecco for a delightful kick.
Instead, if you’re open to broadening your cocktail horizons, in addition to traditional favorites, Aurora Bistrot offers an impressive selection of signature cocktails. Some of our absolute favorites include “Nero The Cruel,” made with mezcal and red fruits, “Livia’s Garden,” a gin-based creation, and last but not least, “Augustus Whisper,” a vodka-based cocktail with a unique touch.
To go with the drinks, we couldn’t resist their taglieri (charcuterie boards), which are perfect for sharing. Our favorite was the Patanegra and mortadella paired with 48-month-aged Parmigiano, but also, you’ll definitely want to try the premium selection with Pecorino Romano al Tartufo, Gorgonzola Arioli, and Stracciatella di Puglia. For something a little different, we tried the crispy homemade spring rolls and Bajias, which matched wonderfully with our drinks.
Five O’Clock Means Spritz… But Sometimes It’s Tea Time!
Not in the mood for an alcoholic aperitivo? No worries – there are also fresh, healthy smoothies on the menu. We highly recommend the “Tropical Sunrise” made with mango, banana, and orange. Alternatively, you can try one of their refreshing virgin cocktails, like the “Virgin Moscow Mule” or the “Virgin Mojito.”
Also, if you’re in the mood for something warm, Aurora Bistrot has you covered. From 4 PM onwards, you can also enjoy a relaxing break with a selection of premium hot teas, served with homemade cookies and the sensational cake of the day crafted by their talented chef, Antonella. We absolutely loved the peach jam crostata – a true highlight.

Aurora Bistrot also hosts live music evenings, mainly dedicated to jazz, with changing line-ups ranging from trios to duos with a singer. “Here you can find simple wines for relaxing, wines for everyday moments, as well as rarer labels that are harder to find,” explains founder Lorenzo Macinanti.
From the moment you walk in, you can feel the atmosphere they’ve created, with both indoor and outdoor seating. More than just a wine bar, Solovino aims to be a fun and approachable space where people can taste, learn, and explore the world of natural wine. Every two months, they host Apri Tutto (meaning “open it all”), an evening where guests can try a variety of wines, with glasses starting from just €2.
About the wine selection
With around 2,500 labels, Solovino’s goal is to help each guest find the perfect bottle by focusing on mood and taste preferences. The menu changes almost daily, so even frequent visitors will always find something new. Wines are divided into categories such as Easy and Fun, Daily Gems, and Natural Unicorns.
The selection spans across Europe, with a strong focus on Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, and Slovenia.
Snacks and dishes
Their food menu follows the same sustainable philosophy, with carefully selected ingredients. Options range from simple snacks such as fries, taralli and olives to bruschette, tramezzini and dishes like artichoke lasagna and eggplant parmigiana.
The bistro is open for lunch from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, while aperitivo and dinner are served from 6.00pm to 11.00pm.
Why natural?
For Lorenzo, the decision to focus exclusively on natural wines is rooted in ethics and authenticity. “Natural wine is made by artisans in small quantities, it’s different from industrial production,” he explains.
This philosophy extends beyond wine: everything at Solovino, from the bread to the aperitivo offerings, is sourced with the same attention to natural and ethical production. All products come from organic and biodynamic agriculture, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and respect for the land.
Lorenzo’s picks
If Lorenzo had to recommend something, he would suggest trying standout reds like a Syrah or a Jura wine.
“Come to have a good time and discover unique and special wines from a selection carefully curated by our team and myself,” he says.
In Campo Marzio, Drink Kong rewrites the idea of the cocktail bar: a precise balance of contemporary aesthetics, Japanese influences and essential, clean, surprisingly elegant mixology.
There is a moment, as you step into Drink Kong Campo Marzio, when Rome seems to become more than just Rome. Campo Marzio is still there, with its layered elegance, but something shifts: the light grows deeper, the materials speak a new language, and time takes on an almost cinematic quality.
Here, in a city accustomed to overt beauty, Patrick Pistolesi chose a different path: he does not replicate, he does not insist. Rather, he distills. The new Drink Kong is a more intimate, conscious, almost quieter version of the original project in Monti. And perhaps, for this very reason, even more elegant.

The first impression is striking: a long bar counter, theatrical yet never ostentatious, reflecting a vertical bottle display like a stage backdrop. Gold and black interact without ever going too far, while clean geometries keep everything in balance. It is a contemporary luxury that does not try to impress, but to endure.
Then come the details. Japan, a stylistic reference that is never overstated, returns in subtle touches: in the surfaces, the lines, and the almost ritual care of the space. The Blade Runner reference is not a stylistic exercise, but a statement of atmosphere: a future already lived, made warm and accessible. And through vinyl records, rare graphics and echoes of Lost in Translation, a coherent narrative takes shape, never forced.

No unnecessary layers: here, everything is built through subtraction. The classics return to centre stage, filtered with surgical precision and made contemporary without losing their identity.
The result is mixology that aims for absolute clarity of taste. Clean lines, recognizable flavours, impeccable execution. The Martini, reimagined, studied and respected, becomes a manifesto. The Gaijin remains a signature, but never overpowers. Every drink feels designed to balance technique and immediacy.

For over 10 years, Enoteca Bortone has been serving wine and small bites, but it is the distinct passion of its owner, Patrizia, that makes this small-but-mighty wine bar so singular.
A knock lands softly on the already open door of the small wine shop. In the middle of our conversation, a neighbour appears at Enoteca Bortone, asking for a bottle. Before the request is even fully made, Patrizia, the owner, is already reaching for the shelf behind her. No list, no overly complicated questions, just quiet intuition. The moment, brief as it is, reveals everything: wine at Enoteca Bortone is not simply poured, but understood.
For Patrizia Bortone, gastronomy has always been part of her life journey. After working as a chef in Spain for twenty years, she became familiar with cramped kitchens, intense service, and the pressure of working under demanding chefs. Yet she managed to find peace in the chaos, thanks in part to the camaraderie she shared with the unsung heroes of the dining room: the sommeliers.
Whether a dish was acidic, umami, or sweet and sour, the sommeliers always seemed to know, often in quick exchanges during service, which wine would work best, down to the grape variety and region. Patrizia was eager to understand how. That curiosity sparked what would eventually become her turning point, from wine enthusiast to full-fledged expert.
As the years went by in Spain, Patrizia found herself increasingly drawn beyond the kitchen. Her curiosity led her into conversations about the world of wine, often late after service or over shared glasses, and gradually lit a new fire within her. Growing older, and feeling the desire to return to Italy and settle into a smaller, more intentional life, she made the leap. In January 2016, she opened her own shop on Via di Monserrato.
After opening the enoteca, Patrizia chose to deepen her knowledge even further by enrolling in sommelier school. For her, it was never just about selling wine. It was about understanding the work behind each bottle: the vineyards, the producers, the choices, the intention. She wanted to translate all of this into a meaningful experience for her guests. If she was going to do it, she was going all in.
The shop is lined from floor to ceiling with bottles of red, white, and sparkling wine, their glass reflecting the dim glow of the lights. Rustic, eclectic décor fills the remaining space, while thick, misshapen candles sit throughout, their melted colours layered together like memories of evenings past. Everything feels lived in. Everything seems to rest in its rightful place.
The wines come from all 20 regions of Italy, with a focus on small, family-owned vineyards and wineries. For Patrizia, it is essential to offer guests a taste of an authentic Italian experience, where every sip and every grape variety carries intention, care, and a story. Tastings at the enoteca are individually curated for each guest, with six wines thoughtfully selected after Patrizia contacts each group in advance to understand what they are looking for. Prefer sparkling whites? Only reds from the North? Patrizia knows exactly what to choose.
Each tasting unfolds slowly, more like a conversation than a structured experience, where guests are guided through six wines that reflect not only Italy’s diverse regions, but their own personal tastes. There is no rigid formula — only a thoughtful progression shaped by Patrizia’s intuition and careful listening. In this way, every tasting becomes entirely its own, a quiet dialogue between guests and the glass.
Once more during our conversation, another friend eagerly arrives, quickly asking for his usual table at 7pm for an aperitivo. Via di Monserrato, she explains, feels like a small town even though it stands in the heartbeat of Rome. Everyone looks out for one another. Everyone supporting one another. And by her small smile as her friend leaves, it is very telling that her community is everything to her.
It is not her wine prowess or friendly demeanor that sets Patrizia apart from the rest, but the pure, unadulterated joy she exudes when guests enter her shop. She understands, better than anyone, that the experience is not so much about her as it is for her guests. Her purpose is to be in service to others through her love of gastronomy. Being at her shop seven days a week is not a job to her, it is simply her living her life, her dream. And when you’re living a dream, it no longer feels like something you do, but something you are.
“I have customers from years past who reserve tables on their first nights back in Rome. It brings me much pleasure they feel at home here,” says Patrizia.

With the shop bearing her last name, it appears apparent Patrizia has always intended for her work to feel just like home. She is a bridge, or ponte in Italian, between wine and the world. Named after the word “can” in Italian and inspired by American soda companies from the 1950’s, partners Alessandro Procoli and The Jerry Thomas Project as well as Paolo Bertani and Leonardo Di Vincenzo from Quattroperquattro consulting – all pioneers in the world of cocktails, natural wine and craft beers – came together to create a new adventure in uncharted territory. Latta Roma was one of the first to bring kombucha into the bar at their opening in 2020 in Ostiense – a truly a novel idea at the time and have since evolved with the new concept of fermented sodas without alcohol.
Also since then, Latta has developed their very own flagship sodas, canned Latta Spritz and opened up an offsite factory to accommodate distribution – all original goals from first launch.
But despite their evolution, the same philosophy remains at Latta – perfected and fermented carefully over time, with a few new things added to the mix…

A Food Menu with a Contemporary Twist
While former head chef Marco Moroni is technically no longer in the kitchen, he is still very much a part of Latta through his consultancy and through collaborations and “cross over” branding from his new restaurant Gabrini. But with new chefs Valerio Zannini and Jacopo Tiberi at the helm, the food offerings are still paired perfectly with Latta’s fermented drinks with some more inventive dishes.
The menu theme at Latta is modern street food of the highest quality ingredients (sometimes with a Roman twist) plus some new contemporary mediterranean plates and flavors. Some notable items are their staples like: Pastrami, Latta burger, gyoza, and their gourmet agrodolce rosetta sandwich to more innovative dishes such as: Cardoncello radicchio e zucca, Roasted artichoke with parmesan and licorice foam, parsley sauce, crunchy panko and mint oil, Hummus di carota e arancia with cappers and fried taco.

The Adèle Full Experience
One of the lounge’s most popular choices is dedicated to mixology: the Adèle Full Experience, a masterclass that pairs three drinks with three dishes. Under the guidance of bartender Giovanni Faedda, guests can learn the art of mixology, and create their own cocktails.
“We wanted to create something unique for the capital,” says Panico. “Not the usual drink pairing designed to enhance the dishes, but an offering that puts the guest in the spotlight. The customer takes center stage and is trained, through a private masterclass, to become the Master Barman for the evening.”
