A’Mano – Bar & Dining

A cocktail bar and Italian tapas in Rome’s historic centre

In the historic centre of Rome, a short walk from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, there’s an elegant yet easy-going hideaway. Its name is A’Mano: a place for a cocktail, an aperitivo with tapas, or a relaxed dinner.

A’Mano sits inside Dimora Coppelle, a boutique hotel from the BZAR Hotels group, housed in a striking Renaissance building that welcomes guests through an imposing sixteenth-century arched portal. History is in the air from the moment you step in: the palazzo was once the residence of Pope Urban VII.

Aperitivo and signature cocktails near the Pantheon

Whether you’re after a well-earned break at the end of a long day, a romantic toast for two or an evening with friends in the heart of Rome, A’Mano adapts to the occasion. It’s the kind of place made for stepping out of the city’s rhythm for a couple of hours.

The drinks list is wide and full of character. Signature cocktails, carefully made and named after Italian icons of music, film and art, sit alongside selected regional wines. Try the Caravaggio, an intense, powerful punch as singular as the work of the great seventeenth-century painter, or the Sophia, as striking and distinctive as the actress who inspired it.

Alongside the drinks comes a wide range of Italian tapas, made to be tasted and shared around the table. The dishes are built in dialogue with the bar list, for a dinner that’s lighter and more sociable than the usual sit-down affair.

Italian tapas and dinner made for sharing

Open from 6pm, A’Mano turns dinner into something more dynamic, built on the quick, easy rhythm of tasting and sharing.

The menu moves lightly through traditional flavours reworked in a contemporary key. In the evening the focus is on local-inspired dishes, like the handmade garganelli with Italian roasted peppers and Calabrian liquorice, or the Maremmana beef rump with brown jus, potatoes and tonka bean. To finish, the Vignola IGP cherries with chocolate, thyme and vanilla are worth saving room for.

A’Mano is a place designed to be lingered in: time slows down, conversations stretch out, and every sip and every bite becomes part of the evening, wrapped in the atmosphere of one of Rome’s most historic corners.

As you step outside to the rooftop outside space, not only are you met with the views mentioned above but also with a warm, yet refreshing breeze during the summer nights with the light of the moon. Singer Palace Hotel: a rooftop getaway

A rooftop cocktail bar in the heart of the historic center

Rome has a flavour all its own: poetic, vibrant and effortlessly grand. And there is perhaps no better way to experience that unmistakable Dolce Vita feeling than from a rooftop cocktail bar, with the Eternal City stretching out all around you. One place that truly stands out is the rooftop of the Singer Palace Hotel.

singer-palace-rome

Perched above the bustling streets of the historic centre, the terrace feels like a secret urban escape. Surrounded by Roman rooftops, domes and bell towers, it offers memorable views over the city and a privileged location just a short walk from Piazza Venezia, directly off Via del Corso.

It is an inviting destination at almost any time of day, whether you are stopping for a refreshing break while sightseeing, enjoying an aperitivo at golden hour or settling in for a relaxed after-dinner drink. The atmosphere is refined without ever feeling formal, while the attentive staff make both hotel guests and outside visitors feel genuinely welcome.

Inside, Jim’s Bar has a cosy atmosphere reminiscent of a contemporary speakeasy. Outside, however, the view takes centre stage, creating an evocative setting in which to enjoy a drink above the rooftops of central Rome.

The bar keeps things stylish and understated, with an extensive selection of spirits alongside classic cocktails and original creations. Behind the cocktail programme is bar manager Federica Geirola, a recognised name in contemporary mixology.

federica-geirola-singer-palace

Her signature cocktail, the Yumi, combines Marendry, Amarena Fabbri bitter, cherry syrup, lime and aquafaba. Fresh, balanced and particularly enjoyable on a summer evening, it is the kind of drink that perfectly complements the warm golden light falling over Rome at sunset.

The creation earned Federica Geirola first place in the Lady Amarena Italia competition in 2021. It can be found alongside her other signature drinks in the “From Jim’s with Love” section of the cocktail menu. Gin lovers can also try Seven Hills, a gin inspired by and produced in Rome.

The menu includes some finger food options and delicious dishes (as well as vegan, vegetarian, and more), hence spending time on the terrace is a well rounded experience. You can pick between classic cocktails and original concoctions, all served with a variety of savory snacks. If you find yourself wanting more of Singer’s exquisite cuisine, you can also reserve a table at Le Terrazze restaurant, for lunch or dinner, and enjoy it on the amazing mediterranean styled terrace one floor below.

With so many unique traits, the magical atmosphere, and careful attention to detail, it’s incredible to think that the hotel, terrace and stunning rooftop have only been open for about 8 years. Lucky for us, it did! It seems like many people agree with us, because Singer Palace Hotel has nearly 1500 reviews on TripAdvisor marking it as excellent and claiming the rooftop as one of the best in Rome for drinks and aperitivo.

Without giving anything else away, keep the Singer’s rooftop in mind next time you’re in Rome and looking for your unique rooftop getaway.

A restaurant with a panoramic terrace in the heart of Rome

47 Circus Roof Garden, flagship of 47 Boutique Hotel, is a restaurant with a panoramic terrace in the heart of Rome. From the sixth floor, you can experience a 360 ° view of the ancient beauties of the city: Piazza della Bocca della Verità with the basilica of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, the temples of the Foro Boario and the Theater of Marcellus.

From October 2020 it has been recognized as “2 forchette Gambero Rosso“, thanks to an ever-new gourmet cuisine that fuses both Mediterranean and Roman flavors.

terrazza-47circus-roma

At the helm of the brigade, chef Maurizio Lustrati, whose CV boasts an important past in the Hotellerie world both in Italy and abroad. Equally valuable is the collaboration with chef Gabriele Enrico, food & beverage consultant for some of the world’s leading luxury hotel chains.

Seasonality is the guiding thread of the entire culinary offering: spring vegetables, aromatic herbs and local ingredients become the key elements of a dynamic and ever-evolving cuisine. Great attention is also paid to short supply chains and the quality of local produce, in line with the sustainable vision of 47 Boutique Hotel.

Within this context, “47 Hortus” plays a central role: a privately owned estate of approximately four hectares located in the Marturanum Regional Park, in the Tuscia region, dedicated to organic farming and home to over 400 olive trees. It is here that 47 extra virgin olive oil is produced—100% Italian and cold-extracted— and served daily at the table exclusively at 47 Circus Roof Garden.

Unique al Palatino Garden Restaurant: an oasis in the heart of Rome

A lush outdoor restaurant with a dreamlike atmosphere, right by the Palatine Hill.

In front of Rome’s Palatine Hill and inside 400 years of history lies Unique al Palatino Garden Restaurant – the lush outdoor restaurant of the four-star Kolbe Hotel Rome. Originally a monastery, the building was transformed into a hotel and restaurant in 2007. Since then, Unique al Palatino Garden Restaurant has become one of our favorite spots for enjoying an al fresco dinner in the heart of Rome.

The area has recently gained even more beauty and tranquility thanks to the construction of a new sidewalk along Via di San Teodoro — perfect for an evening stroll around the Colosseum archaeological park after dinner.

But this isn’t just any outdoor dining spot… this one is extra special! Just step inside to get a taste of what we’re talking about. As you enter the garden, you find yourself immersed in a dreamlike atmosphere: blossoming trees and centuries-old olive trees and citrus trees, away from the clamor of the city. The restaurant’s garden is everything one could wish for. It’s an oasis of peace to taste delicious flavors away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

unique-al-palatino-ristorante-roma

Unique al Palatino Garden Restaurant offers traditional Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist using innovative cooking techniques. Ingredients are fresh and the produce is exclusively Italian for an authentic taste around the Italian territory.

We especially love their seafood offerings. As a starter, we tried and adored their tuna tartare with mango and red loin eggs. For the first course, their paccheri from Gragnano with grouper sauce is a must-try. And as a second course, who could resist their frittura: delicious fried prawns and shrimp, still incredibly delicate. For those who prefer meat, the Roman-style grilled lamb chops or the pink pepper fillet with sautéed spinach are excellent choices.

There are also tasty options for vegetarians. And remember to leave some room for a delicious tiramisu, or for a p istachio parfait served on a chocolate wafer! The superb wine list and excellent service will contribute to making this experience incredible.

Their garden is a magical location to dine in, as is their fabulous open terrace with a breathtaking view, which is only available for private parties. If you prefer to stay indoors, the restaurant also boasts a beautiful interior dining room with enchanting vaulted ceilings and a mix of wooden and red accents.

The setting is the perfect combination between the past and present, refined elegance and antique charm.

And within a stone’s throw away from Circo Massimo and the Jewish Quarter, Unique al Palatino Garden Restaurant is the perfect place to stop by for a romantic candlelit dinner immersed in a charming garden with your other half, a place to organize a party, or even a business meeting.

Rome Meets Naples: The Beating Heart of Anima Within The Rome EDITION Experience

Where La Dolce Vita Meets Contemporary Luxury

Today we take you to a place where time seems to slow down, an urban sanctuary where the hectic Via Veneto gives way to the art of “sweet and slow living.” The Rome EDITION is a rediscovery of what a hotel can truly be: an ecosystem of experiences brought to life through events that aim for excellence. We’re referring to jazz-filled Sundays in a lush garden, themed talks and the nuanced notes of The Wine Table experience.

anima-restaurant-rome-edition

At the heart of this constellation of events sits Anima, a restaurant that is, quite literally, the soul of a project aimed at reconnecting the local and international community with the most genuine spirit of the territory.

Anima restaurant: Where to Eat Well in the Heart of Rome

Anima is divided into two distinct dining rooms, each designed to offer a different atmosphere while perfectly complementing the other. The Blue Room, more intimate and cosy, overlooks the internal garden and welcomes beautiful natural light; it’s ideal for those seeking serenity.

Anima_sala-blu
The Blue Room

The Green Room, larger and more convivial, offers a direct view of the open kitchen and houses a precious photography collection portraying the Rome of “La Dolce Vita”, bridging the present with the glorious past of the nearby Via Veneto. In both rooms, the philosophy is one of five-star luxury elegance that invites guests to feel at home.

anima-restaurant-rome-edition
The Green Room

Inside The Rome EDITION: Iconic Spaces Between Past and Present

Beyond Anima’s gastronomic experience, The Rome EDITION reveals itself as a mosaic of iconic spaces, each with a distinct personality that sparks curiosity. The entire project is housed within a historic building — the former BNL banking building — located on a street parallel to Via Veneto, in the very heart of Rome’s “Dolce Vita” neighbourhood.

Stepping through the magnificent garden that is home to over 400 plants, guests are welcomed into a lobby filled with striking elements: soaring ceilings, generous spaces in elegant tones, and a statement billiard table. Every hotel in the EDITION collection features a unique one; for Rome, marble was chosen as a tribute to the Eternal City’s millennia-long history, with a vibrant orange structure evoking the warm hues of Roman sunsets.

At this green heart of the property, the regular Sunday brunch takes place to the sound of live jazz, while the more occasional “Botanical Alchemy” brings an experimental aperitivo concept to life, drawing on aromatic herbs inspired by the garden itself.

Further in, for those seeking a more intimate atmosphere, the Jade Bar offers a chromatic break from the lobby, focusing on a refined selection of sparkling wines and Martinis in an exceptionally cosy setting. For a more speakeasy-style experience, the Punch Room welcomes guests with warm furnishings and a narrative rooted in the voyages of the East India Company. Here, conviviality prevails: punches are served in large bowls for groups of two to eight, with the “Discovery” drink list paying homage to great explorers and tales of adventure.

Ascending towards the Roman skyline, The Roof offers a breathtaking panorama of the city’s most iconic landmarks, from the Pantheon to the Quirinale, all the way to the Vittoriano. The atmosphere on this rooftop terrace is reminiscent of the Riviera, thanks to the presence of a heated swimming pool, and with a dedicated menu of fresh fish or grilled meats paired with carefully selected drinks.

Finally, the wellness area serves as both a fully equipped space and a natural extension of the design and comfort found throughout the hotel’s rooms. The gym features the newest Technogym equipment, refreshed to ensure the highest standards. At the same time, the treatment rooms are in the process of being opened to offer massages and beauty rituals in an environment refined down to its finest aesthetic detail.

Antonio Gentile Executive Chef at Rome Edition Anima Restaurant
Executive Chef Antonio Gentile

The Anima Team: Excellence in Service

Anima’s identity is also shaped by a young and dynamic team. In the kitchen, Executive Chef Antonio Gentile brings his Neapolitan roots (Ercolano) to blend seamlessly with Roman culinary tradition, creating a gastronomic bridge between tradition and contemporaneity unlike any other.

Additionally, Restaurant Manager Benito Colonna and Sommelier Aires Da Silva guide guests gently out of their comfort zone, encouraging them to discover rare grape varieties and unexpected pairings, turning every service into a deeply memorable experience.

227KM_team-(Venanzi,-Colonna,-Gentile,-Da-Silva)

227 km: a Journey Between Rome and Naples

The beating heart of Anima’s culinary offering is the “227 km” tasting menu, named after the exact distance between Rome and Naples. It is a gastronomic journey across six “stops” (i.e. courses) each dedicated to a local excellence that is often overlooked.

“We have unexpected revelations, such as the Provolone from Formia or the celebrated Red Prawn from Terracina — a local alternative of exceptional quality,” explains Mr. Colonna, who accompanies us through the story of Anima.

227KM-rome-edition

The journey then moves to the coastline: ultra-fresh fish sourced from Anzio, handled by the Chef with contemporary techniques.

The whole experience is accompanied by a printed menu resembling a road map that allows guests to literally follow the path between the two cities. Additionally, Chef Gentile has created an entirely vegetarian tasting journey conceived as a standalone experience in its own right, not merely an alternative to the “227 km.”

Events at Anima and The Rome EDITION

Anima’s calendar of events is constantly evolving, always giving you a reason to return, whether you’re a guest of The Rome EDITION, a Roman local, or passing through:

  • Brunch — held every Sunday in the internal garden, with live jazz. Once a month, the event becomes “Brunch and Beats”, extending into a DJ set that carries on into the evening in the Punch Room.
  • The Wine Table — monthly appointments where Sommelier Aires Da Silva and Chef Antonio Gentile craft a bespoke menu built around a selected winery.
  • Botanical Alchemy — an experimental aperitivo in the garden featuring locally sourced aromatic herbs, with the future ambition of creating a km0 kitchen garden within the hotel itself.
  • Four-Handed Dinners — collaborative dining events with Michelin-starred chefs, creating one-of-a-kind culinary synergies.

Why Choose Anima at The Rome EDITION

Anima and The Rome EDITION speak to the curious guest, one who seeks an immersive, narrative experience that goes well beyond a simple meal. Romans and local residents particularly appreciate the Sunday brunch atmosphere in the garden and the sunsets from the rooftop terrace, both excellent ways for reconnecting with the city. For international travellers, the charm lies in discovering the most authentic side of Italy: moments of relaxation by the panoramic pool, and the stories of great explorers brought to life through the cocktails of the Punch Room.

There’s only one way to truly understand it: step through that hallway door and let yourself be surprised. We suggest you book your table at Anima and discover Rome’s most genuine face, the one that tastes of real Dolce Vita.

Hiromi – elevated sushi on a rooftop

An elegant Japanese sushi lounge

The days when Rome’s culinary scene was limited to traditional pasta and pizza are long gone. Today, the capital offers a wealth of international experiences, and for those seeking refined Japanese cuisine in a stylish setting, Hiromi La Terrazza is an excellent destination.

Perched atop the 77 Hotel in the Monti neighbourhood, Hiromi La Terrazza is the latest adventure from the Hiromi group, which first arrived in Rome in 2018 with Hiromi Cake and expanded in 2023 with Hiromi La Maison. This newest opening sets itself apart through a distinctive gastronomic focus.

The gastronomic and sake offer

The menu focuses on sushi and raw Japanese specialities, with a selection that evolves daily. Guests can choose from carpaccio, gyoza, sashimi, tartare, nigiri, uramaki and temaki, with the wagyu roll emerging as a standout. The quality ingredients, meticulous presentation and stunning mise en place make every dish a feast for the eyes, bursting with beauty and colour. The wine list features around forty labels, with an emphasis on whites and sparkling wines. Meanwhile, the sake selection – curated by sake sommelier Roger Acosta – is thoughtfully organised into three categories: Umami, Aroma and Harmony.

A terrace overlooking the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore

The space offers about 70 seatings and it is divided into several distinct areas, making the choice of where to sit part of the experience: at the counter, overlooking both the kitchen and the nearby Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, or in the more intimate tatami area. The latter is a small, elegantly designed room, adorned with refined floral motifs – an ideal and authentic setting for afternoon tea (served in traditional attire) or for dinner, provided one is comfortable dining seated on the floor without shoes.

Even in winter, the terrace maintains its charm: enclosed yet filled with light, it offers sweeping views over the city while maintaining a warm, cosy atmosphere thanks also to a very professional and knowledgeable service of the General Director Jacopo Giovannini and Floor Manager Fiammetta Oliviero.

Latta Fermenti e Miscele in Ostiense

A unique cocktail bar concept with an original formula, specializing in ferments and mixtures.

Named after the word “can” in Italian and inspired by American soda companies from the 1950’s, partners Alessandro Procoli and The Jerry Thomas Project as well as Paolo Bertani and Leonardo Di Vincenzo from Quattroperquattro consulting – all pioneers in the world of cocktails, natural wine and craft beers – came together to create a new adventure in uncharted territory. Latta Roma was one of the first to bring kombucha into the bar at their opening in 2020 in Ostiense – a truly a novel idea at the time and have since evolved with the new concept of fermented sodas without alcohol.

Also since then, Latta has developed their very own flagship sodas, canned Latta Spritz and opened up an offsite factory to accommodate distribution – all original goals from first launch.

But despite their evolution, the same philosophy remains at Latta – perfected and fermented carefully over time, with a few new things added to the mix…

alessio-giovannesi

The first addition being Alessio Giovannesi new director of the Latta family. Hailing from a diverse background – from one of the most frequented restaurant bars in Rome centro storico to an acclaimed 5-star hotel rooftop cocktail bar – Alessio is the epitome of Italian Hospitality, bringing not only his past expertise but also a new warmth, identity, and life to Latta.

Ferments, Cocktails & Signature Sips

A drink menu that is spans both artisanal craft wine (hand-selected wineries from all over Italy) as well as craft beer with a focus on Italian micro distilleries. And while Latta’s main forte and focus is on their highball, low and no abv drinks, they also offer the highest quality international classic cocktails of course.

On the drink list at Latta:

Low Alcohol Highball Drinks: Mila & Shiso Latta Island, Latta Island, The Mule, Improved Aviation, Penicillin, Funk Aldo, Cordialmenta, Tequila Daisy,  Americano, their “Hall Of Fames” by Campari: Gin Tonic, Negroni, Tommy’s Margarita,  Paloma, Whiskey Sour, Old Fashion, Bottled Cocktails: Ne-Groni and LSD,  Perfect Serve cocktails combine with alcohol free sodas: Solero Amaro (Bitter + La Pasion), Panick Attack (Vermouth + Ananas), Varco Attivo (Pimm’s + Ginger and Lemon) and their Mocktails, and natural fermented sodas (no carbonation added) made by their Latta Soda Company: Green Power, Lemon and Ginger, Acqua Atomica, Ananas, la Pasion and Pesca.

A Food Menu with a Contemporary Twist

While former head chef Marco Moroni is technically no longer in the kitchen, he is still very much a part of Latta through his consultancy and through collaborations and “cross over” branding from his new restaurant Gabrini. But with new chefs Valerio Zannini and Jacopo Tiberi at the helm, the food offerings are still paired perfectly with Latta’s fermented drinks with some more inventive dishes.

latta-roma-cocktail-bar-ostiense
latta-roma-cocktail-bar-ostiense

The menu theme at Latta is modern street food of the highest quality ingredients (sometimes with a Roman twist) plus some new contemporary mediterranean plates and flavors. Some notable items are their staples like: Pastrami, Latta burger, gyoza, and their gourmet agrodolce rosetta sandwich to more innovative dishes such as: Cardoncello radicchio e zucca, Roasted artichoke with parmesan and licorice foam, parsley sauce, crunchy panko and mint oil, Hummus di carota e arancia with cappers and fried taco.

On Latta’s brunch menu you’ll find some classic items like avocado toast, croque monsieur and madame, salads and international plates like shakshuka and borek and of course standard brunch specialty cocktails “Sunday Bloody Mary” and Garibaldi.

Events, Music and Community

Latta Roma has expanded their offerings, developing more events – from live music and comedy to open mic, karaoke, and most recently their first edition of “Segni e Solchi” an encounter between sound, textures and vision – an evening where vinyl spins, glasses fill and art takes center stage with a collective Exhibition. Also new are their ‘Morning Glory’ soft clubbing events and community nights. Another recent addition is Latta Social Club – a separate entity keeping the same theme of the brand, with strong ties to – and efforts within the community, which is something commendable and rather rare.

But the important things at Latta remained constant and that is to redefine coming together over a new kind of drink and drinking. Latta Roma cocktail bar is where you can find the most fun and fermented, low ABV and 0 alcohol drinks in an industrial and cool space (indoor and outdoor) conducive to gatherings big and small.

Closed Tuesday and kitchen open until late (as in midnight) means you can enjoy some gourmet food after traditional hours alongside great cocktails and vibes.

New Food Experience: tasty gluten and lactose free restaurant in Rome

A delicious 100% gluten and lactose free menu in Prati

If you’re looking for a restaurant that can bring together friends and family with different dietary needs, New Food Experience in Prati is a great choice. Originally founded as a gluten- and lactose-free food laboratory, it has evolved into a full-fledged restaurant where guests don’t need to list allergies or restrictions: every dish is entirely gluten- and lactose-free, from antipasti to desserts, including frothy lactose-free coffees.

Nestled in the heart of the elegant Prati district, just a ten-minute stroll from the Vatican Museum, it offers a convenient location for both locals and travelers exploring Rome’s main attractions. The restaurant’s style is simple but cosy. A plus is the wait staff: knowledgeable and sensitive to diverse needs as you would expect from this kind of venue.

Inclusivity without giving up on taste is key

For those with celiac disease or lactose intolerance, the delight of savoring dishes like carbonara or fried antipasti, perhaps for the very first time, is truly remarkable. Chef Davide Belardinelli has crafted an inclusive yet flavourful menu designed to be enjoyed by all guests – and if you’ve never experienced gluten-free cuisine before, you’ll hardly notice the difference.

The taste and the texture of the products are so similar to the gluten pasta that it’s not uncommon for customers to double-check with the staff to ensure that their tonnarelli are genuinely gluten-free. Thus, literally everyone can safely indulge in the New Food Experience whose menu features locally sourced and seasonal ingredients mostly handpicked by the chef from the nearby Mercato Trionfale.

Try the crispy roasted potatoes with homemade porchetta, or go for the tempura-style salted cod, Roman style. The first courses shine with homemade pasta, including the signature Fettuccina Experience with butter, parmigiano, raw beef, and lemon gel, as well as classic Roman staples like Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe, and Amatriciana.

The wine list features a curated selection of local producers and a variety of natural wines.
