If you’re looking for something to do after a day of museum-hopping and cobblestone strolling, make your way down to Lungo il Tevere and spend your evening by the river
Every summer, the banks of the Tiber River transform into one of Rome’s most beloved gathering places. Lungo il Tevere Roma, now in its 24th edition, is the open-air festival that takes over the stretch between Ponte Sublicio and Ponte Sisto from 5 June to 24 August 2026, bringing with it restaurants, bars, markets, live music, exhibitions, and a packed calendar of cultural events that draws an expected two million visitors each season.
Whether you’re looking for a late dinner, a post-sunset cocktail, or simply a place to wander with good company, this is where Rome spends its summer nights.
The festival runs every evening from 7pm to 2am across 80 nights of continuous programming. This year’s edition includes 60 commercial stands, 15 food and drink outlets, 3 dedicated cultural areas, and over 200 artistic performances across the full run.
On the food side, expect everything from Roman street food classics to international kitchens, wine bars, craft beer, and cocktail stands set directly on the riverbank. The market area covers handmade jewellery, artisanal products, textiles, books, and accessories from local and regional producers.
Entertainment this year includes live screenings for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, foosball tables, and various games and installations scattered along the walkway, enough to fill an evening even if you arrive with no particular plan.
With four entrances at Ponte Cestio, Garibaldi, Sisto, and Sublicio, and numerous ways to experience the walk, Lungo il tevere is the place to be on a gorgeous Roman evening. You do not want to miss this modern summer staple of Rome.
Two evenings of wine, food and gastronomic culture at San Salvatore in Lauro
Vino X Roma returns for its sixth edition on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 May 2026, bringing two evenings dedicated to Italian wine, food and gastronomic culture to the Complesso monumentale Pio Sodalizio dei Piceni, in Piazza San Salvatore in Lauro. The event will take place from 7pm to 10pm and will focus on this year’s theme: Italian cuisine as intangible cultural heritage.
The 2026 edition will welcome 26 exhibitors from Lazio, including wineries, distilleries and food producers. Guests will be able to explore the Tasting Area, where participating companies will present their products through tastings and direct encounters with producers. Among the names taking part are Amor Vitae, Tenuta Tre Cancelli, Bianchini, Birrificio Agricolo Sancti Benedicti, Caseificio Paolella, Cibaria, Frantoio Santinelli, La Rosciola, ORO24TARTUFI, Pietra Pinta, Quota Rosa, Tenuta Iacoangeli, Tenuta Lungarella, Vini Giovanni Terenzi and Walter Spallotta.
Alongside the wine and food stands, the programme will also feature a series of Chef-Led Tastings, with ten chefs and gelato makers from Rome and Lazio creating exclusive recipes inspired by the theme of the event. The dishes will be paired with selected wines, offering visitors a chance to discover new combinations and interpretations of Italian gastronomic tradition.
Participating chefs include Matteo Lucchetti and Ardit Arizaj from Aroma Restaurant, Antonio Covuccia from Circolo Ufficiali Forze Armate, Giovanni Cappelli from Le Tamerici, Fundim Gjepali from Antico Arco, Marco Ciccotelli from VICI Bistrot & Ristorante, Davide Mandarino from Molo 29 and Danilo Mancini from Anavà. Gelato will also play a role in the programme, with Eugenio Morrone and Rosario Nicodemo presenting gastronomic gelato for GelatoxRoma.
Awards and special projects
During the event, Vino X Roma will also host the presentation of two awards: Quality First and Galleria del Gusto. The Quality First award, promoted by Excellence Magazine, celebrates quality, excellence and innovation within Rome’s local food markets, recognising historic businesses, digitally innovative projects, female-led activities and street food concepts that best represent the city’s food culture.
New for this edition is Galleria del Gusto, created in collaboration with main sponsors Etirya and Domus Artis. The award will be dedicated to restaurants that integrate contemporary art into their spaces in an authentic and permanent way, transforming the dining experience into a dialogue between cuisine, aesthetics and artistic expression.
Vino X Roma 2026 is supported by the Camera di Commercio di Roma, Regione Lazio and Lazio Innova. Media partners include YUMEH Events & Digital Marketing Agency, FoodMediaShow and Romeing.

From May 6 to 10, 2026, Taste of Roma returns to the city to celebrate an important milestone: its first ten years. For this edition, the festival changes setting and chooses the Gazometro as its new location, one of the most symbolic places in contemporary Rome, which for five days will be transformed into a large village of taste filled with tastings, talks, masterclasses, and DJ sets.
The change of venue is not simply logistical, but also reflects the evolution of the event itself. With its post-industrial identity, the Gazometro gives Taste of Roma a fresh and more urban energy, in tune with a city that is constantly changing and with an audience that is increasingly broad, diverse, and curious. It is a choice that reinforces the festival’s contemporary character and seems designed to welcome both passionate food lovers and a new generation of gourmets.
More than 20 restaurants, from big names to new openings
In 2026, the heart of the festival remains the same: offering the chance to sample, in one place, some of the most interesting dining experiences in Rome. The programme brings together more than 20 restaurants, including long-standing protagonists of the event, established chefs, and new openings that are helping to redefine the city’s gastronomic scene.
Alongside the tasting itineraries, the programme also includes masterclasses with chefs, talks, themed tastings, and in-depth moments dedicated to the world of food and beverage, while throughout the five days the festival will be animated by DJ sets by RDS, the event’s media partner.
In the first days of the festival, from May 6 to 8, the Gazometro kitchens will welcome some of the best-known names in Italian and Roman dining. These include Heinz Beck of La Pergola, Angelo Troiani of Il Convivio Troiani, and Daniele Usai of Il Tino. Joining them will also be Giulio Zoli of Nomos Ante, Andrea Cavallaro of Sbracio, Nicolò and Manuel Palescandolo Trecastelli of Trecca, Davide Del Duca of Osteria Fernanda, Roberto Bonifazi and Francesco Brandini of Tribuna Campitelli – Bottega 13, Danilo Mancini of Anavà, Natale Giunta of Oro Bistrot, Leonardo Malgarini of Casa Malgarini, and Federico Salvucci of Fase.
It is a line-up that brings together a wide range of styles, from Michelin-starred cuisine to charcoal-grilled cooking, from contemporary trattoria fare to more distinctive chef-driven approaches, offering an interesting snapshot of Rome’s dining scene today.
The chefs from May 9 to 10
On May 9 and 10, the programme will continue with more notable names. Alongside returning chefs such as Heinz Beck, Andrea Cavallaro, Davide Del Duca, and Nicolò and Manuel Palescandolo Trecastelli, the line-up will also include Andrea Pasqualucci of Moma, Heros De Agostinis of Ineo, Koji Nakai of Nakai, Alessandro Pietropaoli of The Green Restaurant at Hilton Roma Eur La Lama, Ciro Cucciniello of Carter Oblio, Giacomo Zezza of Bistrot 64, Yamamoto Ejii of Sushisen, and Anastasia Paris with Futura – Laboratorio di cucina.
This second group also reflects a clear desire not to focus only on the most established names, but to present a broader view of Rome’s restaurant scene, shaped by Eastern influences, attention to sourcing, technical research, and new projects.
Opening hours and ticket options
In line with its aim of attracting a broader and younger audience, Taste of Roma 2026 offers different ticket options. Alongside the standard ticket, there will also be solutions such as the Open ticket, valid for any date, as well as other dedicated formulas. Official opening hours are from 6 to 8 May, 6.00 pm to midnight, while on 9 and 10 May the festival will also be open for lunch, from 12.00 pm to 4.00 pm, in addition to the evening session from 6.00 pm to midnight.
In a city where opportunities to eat well are never in short supply, Taste of Roma continues to stand out because it offers something simple yet rare: the chance to experience different cuisines in one place, compare approaches, discover new restaurants, and enjoy food in a less formal way. After ten years, the festival no longer seems interested only in celebrating itself, but in opening a new chapter, one that feels more dynamic and more in tune with the Rome of today.
For anyone who loves food, of course, but also for those who want to observe Rome through one of its liveliest languages, Taste of Roma 2026 is one of the city’s food events to mark on the calendar.

Over 50 exhibitors, handcrafted jewelry, vintage fashion, design objects and gourmet finds in one of Rome’s most atmospheric industrial spaces.
On April 11 and 12, Unique Mkt returns to animate the spaces of Industrie Fluviali, in the heart of Rome’s Ostiensedistrict. For one full weekend, the former factory with its industrial charm transforms into a vibrant hub of contemporary creativity, where aesthetic research, craftsmanship, and a culture of beauty come together across three levels filled with atmosphere, from indoor rooms to bright terraces.
With more than 50 exhibitors from across Italy, the market offers a curated and varied route designed for those who love discovering independent brands, artisanal production, and high-quality creative work.
The selection is broad and thoughtfully curated, moving from the world of visual arts, with illustrators, painters, watercolorists, and textile artists, to artistic craftsmanship, with handmade ceramics often produced as one of a kind pieces or in small series, contemporary jewelry ranging from minimalist to richly textured designs, hand poured vegetable wax candles, and design objects created for a refined and sustainable home.
Special attention is also given to the botanical and natural world, with terrariums and plant compositions, as well as to the textile sphere, with tailored clothing, handmade accessories, and leather bags crafted using traditional techniques. Each stand tells its own story, revealing a creative process and an ethical vision shaped by quality, research, and conscious production.
A particularly refined vintage selection will also be part of the event, featuring clothing and objects spanning different decades, from the 1970s and 1980s to rare pieces from the 1940s, chosen for their aesthetic value and their timeless appeal, ready to be reinterpreted and given a new life.
Food will also play an important role, with producers of outstanding gastronomic specialties, including olive oil, honey, lavender, and products from the Tuscia area, bringing authentic flavors and artisanal traditions into the city. On the terrace, a plant based food corner will offer the perfect setting for a lunch break or an afternoon snack, while a second outdoor area, furnished with seating and deck chairs, will invite visitors to enjoy the sun and the relaxed atmosphere of the event.
The exhibition path continues on the lower ground floor where, alongside the stands, visitors will also be able to take part, by reservation at +39 349 5375235, in a Kintsugi workshop led by Florentine artist Gioia Di Biagio. It is an opportunity to discover an ancient Japanese technique that transforms cracks into elements of value, combining artistic practice with a reflection on imperfection.
Unique confirms itself not simply as a market, but as a cultural and sensory experience: a place of encounter and discovery, where visitors are invited to slow down, explore, and feel inspired, entering into a direct dialogue with artisans and their creations.
The Location
Another strong point is the location. Industrie Fluviali is easy to reach by Metro B (Piramide) and Ostiense railway station, making it a convenient stop for both locals and visitors. For those arriving by car, there is an agreement with two guarded parking facilities about 200 meters from the venue, with a 25% discount dedicated to Unique Mkt visitors.
Unique confirms itself as one of the most anticipated appointments for anyone looking for authentic creations, thoughtful details, and independent realities capable of telling a story through each piece, a story made of passion, vision, and craftsmanship. Entrance is by voluntary donation.
The event dedicated to wine lovers will be held at San Paolo District with labels from all over Europe.
The independent fair for natural wines returns to Rome on March 7–9, 2026 at San Paolo District. Here, wineries from all over Europe come together to share the values of healthy agriculture and low-intervention winemaking. A great opportunity for fans of natural wine, which rightly joins the prestigious tradition of Italian wines as a contemporary and sustainable option.
The 2026 edition, the sixth, will bring together over 120 independent winemakers from Italy and across Europe, with producers traveling from France, Spain, Slovenia, and Austria. Expect distinctive, character-driven wines that may challenge convention, yet remain deeply rooted in their places of origin. Beyond the tasting tables, the program will also feature moments of discussion and cultural insight focused on sustainability, rural transformations, and mindful drinking.
This year’s big new addition is the opening party, “Naturalmente Selvaggi!”, scheduled for Saturday, March 7 from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, again at San Paolo District: free entry, with drinks served at cost. The evening will spotlight groups of winemakers (including some not present during the official fair days), with a focus on specific regions and local collectives, including the Associazione Vignaioli Vulcani Laziali and Senza Meja, spanning the Collio and Carso areas across Italy and Slovenia, with wineries such as Radikon, Nikolas Juretic, and Paraschos. Distillers, fermentation-focused producers, coffee makers, and “natural” artisans will also be there, alongside talks and informal meetups.
After the first two weeks of February, RCRW returns from March 16 to 30, 2026: a new format inspired by New York Restaurant Week, designed to discover the city’s best food and drink destinations.
The first of its kind, Rome CocktailBar & Restaurant Week is a goodwill effort from the heart that brings together restaurants, cocktail bars, chefs, bartenders, and sommeliers, bringing people into their establishments.
A grassroots community-driven initiative built from the bottom-up, spreading the word amongst key influential figures, writers and professionals working in the hospitality, bar, and restaurant sector, the first edition of Rome Cocktail Bar & Restaurant Week 2026 will generate local engagement, while igniting the passion and shared desire to develop a strong network amongst industry professionals and in turn, elevating Rome and everyone who visits and lives there.
“Inspired by hometown’s ‘NYC Restaurant Week’ which came to light during the time I spent alone in Rome during Covid, I wanted to help the industry I came to love – places that felt like home and people that became family. So channeling my old ad agency days and taking into account every PR event, product launch, wine and food-focused expo, chef demo, bartender guest shift, bar takeover, cocktail week and bar show, I created a unique formula. The result is a two to four week event that entices new customers into select establishments around Rome” explains Lauren Caramico, founder of Rome CocktailBar & Restaurant Week.
From the already internationally-acclaimed cocktail bars and Michelin star rising restaurants to long-loved establishments, secret underground spots, and hot new openings – some housed in the most incredible 5-star hotels – diners and drinkers will get a taste of the very best of Rome.
The first “wave” is on Monday, February 16th until Monday, March 2nd 2026 with a second wave from Monday, March 16th to Monday, March 30th – a time chosen from several reasons – these are the hardest weeks of the season when hospitality needs the most support and also the best time for seasonality of food, but more importantly – it creates a unique solution to overtourism and doesn’t contribute to it.
The mission of Rome CocktailBar & Restaurant Week is simple: promote the hospitality industry in the best way possible – getting people excited to explore the city- and getting them to walk through the door.
How it Works
Rome CocktailBar & Restaurant Week will have a unique format, inviting and incentivizing people with special RCRW menus and “deals” during the event duration. Unlike NYC Restaurant Week, Rome CocktailBar & Restaurant Week will not have set prix fixe menus that all participants must adhere to but instead allows RCRW participants –the restaurants and bars – the freedom to choose from a range of options between: special aperitivos, signature drinks, signature drink menus, brunch, lunch, dinner or after-dinner drink specials – always with the option for patrons to order from the venue’s regular menu once they are there.
All RCRW offers will be completely unique to Rome CocktailBar & Restaurant Week, offerings that cannot be found on the menu outside the event’s duration, mostly at lower-than-normal price points also featuring a few “extras” for those RCRW customers who are “in the know”.
The Rome CocktailBar & Restaurant Week special menus format also promotes sustainability, giving venues the freedom to change or create drinks/dishes in real time, encouraging customers to come back for a second visit and try something totally new.
Simply mention “Rome Cocktail Bar & Restaurant Week” aka RCRW when booking reservations online (making note of it in the special requests/comments section on each venue’s booking site) OR use it as your “secret password” to find out each participant’s special RCRW menu in person. There will also be one-page flyers on display at each venue with a QR code to learn more about the program and the RCRW participants.
Targeting multiple segments of equal importance, RCRW appeals to Roman locals, expats who live in Rome currently, Italian and international tourists, professionals in the restaurant/bar/hotel industry, respected journalists, key figures and influencers who work to promote these industries, and food & drink lovers/connoisseurs from all over the globe.
RCRW Purpose & Goals
Rome CocktailBar & Restaurant Week aims to marry the food & beverage and Italian hospitality sector, challenging previous beliefs and behaviors and introducing a new offer and approach to dining – with the goal of integrating – and growing – integrate the restaurant & cocktail bar community in Rome all while cultivating new and long-lasting relationships with the locals who live in Roma. RCRW is meant to get people excited about going out during the low-season months, making them feel good about eating and drinking for a good cause i.e. contributing to their city in the most fun way.
